Lapland Winter Activities: What’s right for you?
Lapland, a beautiful place in northern Finland and Sweden, is a magical winter wonderland. It has amazing scenery, special cultural experiences, and way too many exciting things to do. It’s a perfect place to visit if you’re looking for a truly unforgettable adventure!
But with so many options to choose from, how do you decide which activities are right for you?
Having been to Lapland quite a decent amount of time and tried most of the activities, I divided these activities into three groups: nature lovers, thrill-seekers, and culture enthusiasts.

Remember, you don’t have to fit into just one category. You might be a combination of all three, or you might have other interests entirely. The most important thing is to choose activities that you’ll enjoy and find fulfilling.
If you’re a combination of all three and all activities seem interesting, the next factor to consider is the physical exertion level. I’ll cover it also below.
Of course, these are suggestions based on my fitness level. Your experience may vary depending on your fitness level and the specific conditions of each activity.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the most popular Lapland winter activities! Let’s go!
Group 1: For Nature Lovers

What if I’m a bit of everything? Tough choice!
I know, you might think about joining all the activities available at the destinations. That is completely possible as activities are arranged at different times and they don’t overlap. But before doing so, I also want to remind you that it’s essential to balance excitement with your energy levels.
The next thing I want you to consider is the physical exertion level of each activity. Here is the rough estimation based on my own experience and fitness level.

Note! The intensity of activities can feel very different depending on an individual’s fitness level, physical capabilities, and personal preferences. What may be a light and enjoyable experience for one person could be tiring or even overwhelming for someone else. Understanding how fitness plays a role in your experience is key to managing energy levels and making the most of your trip to Lapland.
My tip would be to alternate between low and high-intensity experiences, you can keep the pace of your trip enjoyable and sustainable, allowing you to make the most of Lapland without wearing yourself out.
Remember, the best Lapland winter activities are the ones that you should enjoy the most. Don’t be afraid to try something new and step outside your comfort zone. With so many amazing activities to choose from, you’re sure to have an unforgettable time in Lapland!
