Accommodation in Norwegian Fjords: The Highlights
Accommodation can make or break a trip, whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a longer adventure. The right place to stay doesn’t just give you a bed, it sets the mood, creates moments, and sometimes becomes one of the most beautiful memories. Especially when you’re sharing it with your loved ones.
These accommodations were part of our unforgettable Adventure trip to Norwegian Fjords, and we couldn’t wait to share them with you!

In This Post, You’ll Discover:
📍 Where we stayed in the charming town of Lærdal
📍 Our cozy accommodation experience in Luster
If you’re planning your trip with us through Norway or just daydreaming about the fjords, this post will give you a peek into two of our favorite stays along the way.
Accommodation in Lærdal: The Fjords’s Time Capsule
Lærdal felt like stepping into a postcard: sleepy streets, colorful wooden houses, and the soft hum of nature all around. We stayed in a charming fjordside apartment that looked simple on the outside but had everything we needed after a long day of exploring.
Why a time capsule?
Because if you’ve ever wanted to hit pause on life and just be, this place will let you do exactly that.
Staying here felt like stepping outside of time. Everything slowed down. The sun took its sweet time crossing the sky, and we could sit for hours doing absolutely nothing… except watching the mountains breathe with a drink in hand.

When we arrived, nature welcomed us with a warm embrace in the golden sunset.
The location? Absolutely unreal. We were right by the water and just a short walk from the center of Lærdal, which, by the way, was adorable. Colorful wooden houses, quiet streets, and that small-town charm that makes you never want to leave.
We stayed in the motel area of the accommodation.

One of my favorite parts was the common kitchen, located on the first floor of the main lounge building. It’s open to everyone and fully equipped, so we could cook our own meals and relax after a long day of exploring.
When you’re traveling with friends, one of the best parts is simply doing things together. It’s not always about checking things off from itinerary, it’s the everyday stuff that sticks with you the most.
For us, that meant cooking our meals together. We made the most of grocery stops along the way and planned something simple but cozy for the evenings.

The ultimate highlight? Pizza night.
We turned the shared kitchen at Lærdal Feriepark into our own little pizzeria. Our Italian teachers rolled out the dough from scratch (yes, absolute pros!), and we each got to choose our own toppings.
Honestly, those dinners brought us closer than any planned activity ever could.

Accommodation in Luster: Our Favorite Retreat in Norway
After the dreamy days in Lærdal, we headed deeper into the fjords and found ourselves in Luster. And wow. What a hidden gem this turned out to be.
The best part? A balcony with panoramic views of the mountains and crystal-clear water.
Another best part? Waving to our neighbors from just a few meters away! The cabins were close enough that we could lean over the railing and chat balcony-to-balcony like friendly fjordside locals.

You could even swim in the fjord! Just follow the little path behind the cabins and you’ll find a crystal-clear swimming spot waiting for you.
The cabin itself was super cozy, with that clean, modern Scandinavian vibe: natural wood interiors, soft lighting, and big windows that let the views in. There was plenty of space to hang out, a comfy couch for lazy mornings, and a fully equipped kitchen where we cooked meals together like one big family.

The accommodation also offers access to a sauna, jacuzzi with a stunning view, and a swimming spot in the fjord. After a long hike, we treated ourselves to all of it. And let me tell you, sore legs were instantly forgotten. The power of sauna! 🧖♀️
With the mountains in front of us and the water just a few steps away, it felt like the ultimate Norwegian wellness moment. There’s a small extra fee for the sauna and jacuzzi, but honestly?
Totally worth it.
Ending
Looking back, both Lærdal and Luster gave us so much more than just a place to sleep. These stays became part of the story and part of what made the whole trip feel so special.
From early-morning breakfasts to late-night dinners after long hikes, we laughed, we rested, and we connected. With each other, and with the beautiful places around us.
If you’re planning your own trip through the fjords, we truly hope you get to experience places like these. Not just for the views (though wow, the views!), but for the feeling they leave you with. The kind that stays with you long after you’ve gone home.
