Buy 10m2 of old Finnish forest

The survival of the natural world for future generations depends on maintaining its complexity, its biodiversity (source).
Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation (Suomen Luonnonperintösäätiö), founded by famous writer and deep ecologist Pentti Linkola in 1995, is constantly expanding protected areas around Finland by buying land from state and private owners. It offers you a possibility to acquire 10m2 of old-growth Finnish by donation of 5 euros.

Areas protected by the foundation and Nature Conservation Act are primaeval forests and swamps representing numerous species and different life stages from saplings to full-grown trees and decaying ones, hosting a high degree of biodiversity. Old forests and swamps are known to absorb and contain large quantities of CO2 in biomass and soil. Unfortunately, the amount of old-growth forest in Finland is disappearing at an alarming rate due to the modern forest industry. Nature cannot protect itself against modern logging machinery.

Your donation is a concrete action in the right direction in creating a more sustainable future. Donation is paid to the foundation in full without deduction. Thank you for your support!
