Experience the magical Lapland in the most famous ski resort in Finland – Levi. Levi is located in the Fell Lapland, in the middle of pure nature and large wilderness areas. During the trip you have an amazing opportunity to see the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, meet the cutest reindeer and pet your favorite huskies! You will experience the beautiful Arctic landscape and if you are lucky, see the Northern lights! Additionally, there is a variety of winter sports you can try, such as snowshoe walking, cross-country skiing and winter swimming, and all of this at student-friendly prices! The accommodation is in well-equipped apartments/cottages, and the services of the Levi ski resort are only a few steps away.

Catering, meals, breakfasts

In order to keep trip prices as low as possible, all cottages are self-catering – breakfast, lunch, and evening meals are not included.

Each accommodation has good cooking facilities. Kitchens are equipped with cutlery, pots, pans, plates, glasses, mugs, a 2-ring electric hob, a microwave, a water boiler, and a coffee machine.

Meals are not included, but we stop on the way to your destination to buy groceries. You can, for instance, decide with your accommodation group what you are going to cook together and share the groceries and costs. Ovens are not present in every accommodation, so don’t buy things like frozen pizzas, chicken, etc.

Grocery shopping: We recommend you do all your shopping on the way to the destination. Your groceries won’t freeze in the bus luggage compartment unless the temperature drops to minus 35°C. You can save quite some money if you and your roommates decide to cook together.

Bed linen and towels

You can rent a bedlinen set (pillow cover, mattress cover, duvet cover, big and small towels),

OR 

You can bring your own, including small and big towel.

The accommodation already includes the mattress, pillow, and blanket/duvet for everyone.


NOTE! The use of sleeping bags is strictly prohibited on the premises due to hygiene considerations. Should it come to the owner's attention, a penalty of €150 will be imposed. Fitted sheets are also not recommended as the size of bed may vary. 

Extra activities which are not included in the trip package

Extra activities can be bought through your user account on www.timetravels.com until 9 days before the trip departure or until they are sold out.

Activities "not available now" are expected to be on sale online or upon arrival at the destination.

At the destination the activities cost +5€ except for the activities not on sale online.

Travel health insurance

We recommend travellers to have insurance that covers cancellations due to sickness and accidents.

If you do not have one, from your user account you can add Health Insurance until 9 days before the trip departure.

Clothes rental

You can rent clothes such as gloves, boots and overalls for one or multiple days.

How to rent: 

  • Rent them in advance via your user account (option available until 9 days before your trip departure),
  • Clothes rental at the destination is not guaranteed. If we have unrented items, your guide will inform about the availability. Since we cannot confirm availability, we suggest to travel with your best set of winterclothes. Rent from your guide once in Lapland. Watchout! The prices might differ.

Accommodation cleaning

The final cleaning is not included.

In case the accommodation is not in the same conditions as when you arrived, a 250€ fee will be charged.

At the destination the activities cost +5€ except for the activities, which were not on sale online.

DAY 1- Departure

The departure time might change +/- 2 hours.

You will select the exact departure place from the available one, when booking the trip.

05:00 Departure from Copenhagen central station.

Bus transfer to ferry terminal in Stockholm. Check-in and boarding the ferry to Helsinki.

16:30 The ferry departs from Stockholm to Helsinki. 

Enjoy the evening and entertainment on board.

Overnight on the bus. Some gas station breaks on the way depending on the driver's schedule.
At the gas stations you can find toilets and cafes.

DAY 2 - Helsinki, Walking city tour (optional)

10:10 Arrival in Helsinki, disembarkation.

Activity - Helsinki city tour (optional)

Free time in the city. Ask your guide for recommendations.

21:00 Departure to Lapland.

Overnight on the bus. Gas stations break every 4-5 hours.

The gas stations are well equipped: toilets, grocery stores, and cafes

DAY 3 - Arrival in Lapland

10:30 Stop for breakfast, followed by a grocery shopping break.

12:00 Santa Claus Village visit

17:30 Arrival in our accommodation. Free time to settle in and explore the surroundings.

DAY 4 - Snowmobile safari (optional), Forest ice skating (optional)

Morning activity - Snowmobile safari

The snowmobiles are a convenient means of transportation beyond the Arctic Circle. Locals use them anywhere from going to the grocery store to paying a visit to a friend who lives behind the hill. The route takes you to hidden places out in the wilderness, surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

Evening activity - Forest ice skating

Glide through a lovely, well-lit forest path under the twinkling glow of Christmas lights!

DAY 5 - Reindeer herder experience (optional), Cross-country skiing (optional)

Morning activityReindeer herder experience

We will visit a reindeer herder and learn about the traditions and culture of the indigenous people of Northern Europe, and the reindeer herding in Lapland. In addition, you will get to feed the reindeer and take lots of photos with them.

Afternoon activity - Cross-country skiing for beginners

We will try one of the oldest winter sports, which is also the national sport of the Nordics.

DAY 6 - Husky safari (optional), Snowshoe hike (optional)

Morning activity - Husky safari

We start the day early in the morning but don’t worry, your mood will be instantly lifted when you meet your new furry friends! Visit to a traditional sled dog kennel and a sleigh ride through the snowy forest is a highlight of any Lapland trip.  

Evening activity - Snowshoe hike (night tour)

We will get to experience one of the most ancient ways of moving in deep snow, which is still used today. We get off the beaten track and explore a winter wonderland that would be hard to access on foot or skis. What a better way to immerse yourself in nature!

Free time for your own activities and winter fun.

DAY 7 - Departure home

11:00 Cleaning the rooms and check-out. The accommodation has to be left in the same condition as it was upon your arrival.

Day 8 - Ferry to Stockholm

Morning arrival in Turku. Check-in and boarding the ferry to Stockholm.

08:45 The ferry departs from Turku to Stockholm.

Enjoy the entertainment on board or have some rest in the cabin.

18:55 Ferry arrival in Stockholm, disembarkation. The journey home continues by bus.

DAY 9 - Arrival home

Should you need to book a transfer after the trip, please, consider only departure

- 4 hours after the expected arrival time for train/ferry/bus ticket;

- 6 hours after the expected arrival time for flight tickets

Spend a week like a Finn! You will stay close to Levi's services -   grocery stores, pistes, ski trails, restaurants, spas, bars, and more. All cottages and apartments have a fireplace, own sauna, bathroom, TV, self-catering kitchenette with tableware and cooking equipment, fridge, freezer, mattresses, and pillows.

Cottages/apartments include the same amenities but the style and cottage size can change according to availability.

Wi-Fi is available in most cottages but is not a standard feature.

Please note that according to availability:

- the accommodation size can vary from 4 to 14 people;

- the apartments have different standard beds according to availability: double beds, bunk beds, pull-out sofas and loft beds. 

- the pictures are for illustrative purpose only. Other accommodations in Levi might look different but will included the amenities mentioned.

Sleeping bag is not allowed!

We are a group, can we stay in the same room/accommodation? Should we book the trip together?
We understand that it is important to stay with your friends and we will try our best to consider all requests.
 
You can have a group or individual bookings.
Please, ensure you have booked the same trip and accommodation category.
 
10-14 days before departure, you will receive the accommodation sign-up link by email.
The first of your group to open the email can assign all of you to the same accommodation(s); per your friends' permission and availability.
 
Same accommodation guests share the same bus and the same activities schedule!
In case your travel group size is more than 1 bus big, please, select accommodation options on the same bus. If we are obliged to split the group or there is a last-minute bus change, we will keep travellers from the same accommodation together.

Can I stay in a same gender room/accommodation?
Where are the cottages? How big are the cottages?

The accommodation is near Levi, though not within walking distance.

Most of the accommodations are for 3-14 people with rooms for 2-3 people. Some accommodations may differ in size.

How can I win a free trip?

By purchasing a trip from us before September 1, you participate in a raffle to win back the value of your purchase. The full refund includes also the activities associated with the trip order, even if they have been booked separately.

What should I prepare for Lapland?

You should bring, at least, the following:

  • Valid to travel ID and/or passport
  • Student card/ESNcard
  • Towel and Bedlinen (for single bed, approx 90x200) - unless you have booked it

What if there is no snow?

The reaseon we use North Lapland as the location of our main destinations is that it experiences snowfalls since October. However, we cannot control the weather. So, int he unlikely event that the snow is not deep enough for snow-requiring activities, we will offer an alternative or pay full refund for the cancelled activites. Activities not snow-dependent are usually always possible.

I need to book a transfer before/after the trip?

We recommend to book transfer arriving at least 2 hours before the departure time.
We recommend to book transfer departing at least 4 hours after the arrival time.

Can I rent clothes?

Is there a luggage size limit?

You can travel with:
• 1x 15kg luggage to store in the bus trunk (size is not important!) and
• 1x small backpack to take with you during the bus ride.

What is the bus like?

Most of our busses are from 50 to 65 seaters with bathroom.

Wi-Fi is available in most of the busses but is not a standard feature.

What happens if I am found intoxicated during the journey and activities?

During the trip the participants are required to be physically and mentally fit.

If the guide considers that a traveller is endangering or harming the tour staff or the other travellers with their behaviour due to intoxication, the traveller's trip will be terminated as per Terms and Conditions point 5 here.

Is the trip suitable for travellers with disabilities?

As much as we would like to welcome everyone, to ensure the trip is suitable for you, please, take into account the following conditions:

  • The transportation is by bus. You should be able to board and get off the bus on your own;
  • Due to the variety of accommodation we use, we cannot ensure accommodation with a lift. You should be able to go up and down the stairs on your own;
  • Some activities might require walking or standing for a prolonged time. You should be able to walk at an average speed (1km in 15min ~5km/h) and stand for 3-4 hours;
  • You are able to walk on snowy and icy surfaces*;
  • You don’t need third party's support during the trip. If you need third party support, another traveller is your travel companion who will assist you for the whole trip duration. Before booking the trip, please, contact our customer service team.

Is there an age limit for the trip?

Almost everyone can join the trip. If you are travelling with someone very young or senior, you might wish to consider the following factors:

  • every traveller must be able to use a standard bus seat for a few hours, without seat support;
  • the accommodation's common areas (bathroom, kitchen, living room) are shared with other travellers and some accommodation rooms might be shared with other travellers too;
  • the activities are tuned-up for young adults full of energy.
